this project is for an event 'JAPAN CREATION ~Paper x Design x Technology~' organizied by a paper company 'TAKEO' with the MITSUKOSHI department store in Tokyo. for the event, we designed an original traditional japanese paper 'ECHIZEN WASHI' with ribbon.

we visited 'Takefu' where is a historical japanese papaer village to make the original ECHIZEN WASHI. In the village, the WASHI history has begun about 1500 years ago. we designed the ribbon pattern and the crafts wokers carefully made the papers. it was a incredible experience, we should visit again and make more WASHI!
we made two sizes 90cmx 90cm and 70cm x 70cm.
